WATERFORD DEVELOPMENT WELCOMES CATHERINE BAUM AS
VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES AND MARKETING

Reston, Va. – Waterford Development announced the hire of Catherine A. Baum as vice president of sales and marketing. In her new position, Baum will be responsible for overseeing sales and marketing, corporate branding and public relations efforts for the Reston-based residential and commercial developer.

“Cathy brings with her a depth of experience in all aspects of residential real estate and a keen sense of sales and marketing, and she is an important part of our company’s leadership team,” said

With more than 20 years of experience in the Washington, D.C. area real estate industry, Baum previously worked at the Drees Company, one of the country’s top private builders where she served as division manager and president of the Washington division. While in this position, she provided leadership and overall direction for divisional operations including land acquisition and development, sales and marketing, home construction and customer care, and saw profits increase from $12 million to over $44 million.

Baum also served as vice president of sales and marketing and, later, as executive vice president at Stanley Martin Companies, one of the largest privately-held homebuilders in the Washington area. Baum oversaw sales and marketing, construction and warranty resources, as well as engineering and land development for a division of the company.

Baum is active in numerous professional, civic and real estate organizations in the region. She is a member of the Fairfax Committee of 100 and the prestigious Institute of Residential Marketing, an arm of the National Association of Homebuilders. She received a bachelor of science in management from George Mason University and is a benefactor of the university’s Planned Community Archives Collection.
