NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE’S RESTAURANT SIGNS FIRST LEASE Reston, Va. (April 8, 2008) – Not Your Average Joe’s restaurant has signed a 6,500-square-foot lease at Spectrum, Waterford Development’s new mixed-use project in Falls Church, Va., the company announced today. This makes Not Your Average Joe’s the first committed retail tenant at Spectrum. Fronting on Broad Street and Spectrum’s Market Square, more than 31,000 square feet of space is dedicated to retail at the development. “We’re incredibly excited that Not Your Average Joe’s will be an anchor tenant for retail at Spectrum,” said Chris Ciliberti, president of Waterford Commercial Development. “Not Your Average Joe’s brings a fresh dining venue for both our residents and Falls Church community members.” The first Not Your Average Joe’s opened in 1994 in Dartmouth, Mass., when founder Steve Silverstein saw the need to bring big city food into suburban neighborhoods at an affordable price. As a result, he launched the restaurant, which offers creative, casual cuisine. Currently, there are 14 restaurants in Massachusetts. This will be Not Your Average Joe’s second location in Virginia, complementing the already successful restaurant in Lansdowne Town Center in Leesburg. “It was an easy decision to bring Not Your Average Joe’s to Spectrum’s highly-visible venue,” said Steve Silverstein, founder and CEO of Not Your Average Joe’s. “Spectrum is in the heart of Falls Church, and we know this neighborhood will continue to grow and evolve. Not Your Average Joe’s is excited to be a driving force in that growth.” A multitude of other companies have expressed interest in retail space at Spectrum including several bistro and wine bar concepts, day spas, and a smoothie establishment, among others. Not Your Average Joe’s is scheduled to open in November 2008. John Asadoorian of Asadoorian Retail Solutions represented Not Your Average Joe’s and Eric Rubin of Madison Retail Group represented the landlord in the transaction.
